| Description: | Speaker: Uta Francke, M.D. Professor of Genetics and Pediatrics, Stanford School of Medicine. Dr. Franke will speak on WHY HUMAN GENETICS NEEDS THE MOUSE. Progress in human genetics has benefited from comparative studies of laboratory mice from the early days of gene mapping to genome sequencing, and how to global analyses of gene functions and control regions. Specific examples will illustrate how mice serve as experimental organisms for generating models of human genetic and chromosomal disorders. |
