| Description: | In this talk, Dr. Harvey Karten, of UCSD’s Department of Neurosciences, will discuss the evolution of human and avian brains.
How do birds process sensory information? What region of the brain in birds is similar to the mammalian cortex? What can we learn about the evolution of human brains by studying the brains of birds?
This is the final lecture in this season of UCSD's popular Grey Matters lecture series. Past talks and supplemental materials are available at the Grey Matters education website: http://ucsd.tv/greymatters/. Registration at 5:30pm. Lecture begins at 6pm. |
