| Description: | Choreography by Liam Clancy, Maria Parra Cleary, Allyson Green, Jean Isaacs, and Yolande Snaith. Directed by Allyson Green Annually, our top dance students perform original and innovative choreography by our distinguished faculty artists. This season's production is set in a magical visual environment of flowing fabric, visual projections, and beautiful costumes designed by UCSD MFA design students and guest artist. Set in a timeless gardenscape of white, translucent and luminous forms, Yolande Snaith's Ghost Garden intertwines a surrel language of dance, human behavior, text, music and song in this highly imagistic dance theatre work. Maria Parra Cleary's piece explores the ebb and flow of breath, which marks our time. In a powerful dance for a community of sixteen women, Allyson Green's Full Circle, set to Beethoven's classic String Quartet Op. 18, charts the grief and joy of a woman's life. In Table Settings, Liam Clancy creates a series of vignettes that explore the inner life of utensils. Jean Isaacs' Two Quartets, set to the music of Steve Reich for eleven dancers, captures the insistent rhythms and the urgency of his minimalist score.
