Make a splash in Birch Aquarium at Scripps's new immersive, waterplay experience, Wonders of Water, debuting on Saturday, June 17, 2006.

Children of all ages will be dazzled by rippling, streaming water in three new, interactive stations in Birch Aquarium's outdoor Smargon Courtyard. Visitors can create rapids, canals, dams and islands, resulting in currents and erosion in these clever and interactive waterplay areas.

While these new, “get-wet” interactive water stations are designed for fun, children will have a dynamic environment for exploring and learning the concepts of erosion, water flow, and ocean currents. Imaginations will overflow with this new, wet water experience.

Splashing around the Wonders of Water is included with paid aquarium admission: adults, $11; seniors (60+), $9; youth (3-17), $7.50. Birch Aquarium’s Splash Cafe also is planning a special, splashy summer menu.
