| Description: | UCSD Extension is pleased to announce that renowned psychologist and marketing guru Clotaire Rapaille will speak on Monday, June 12th, 7:00-8:30 p.m., as part of UCSD’s Revelle Forum at The Neurosciences Institute. Dr. Rapaille has been featured on PBS Frontline’s “The Persuaders,” as well as on 60 Minutes and in the Sunday New York Times, where he discussed his extensive understanding of the theories of consumer behavior. What makes us live, buy, even love as we do? According to Rapaille, the answers are in the silent codes of our culture that invisibly shape behavior. In his groundbreaking new book, The Culture Code, he decodes Americans' hidden symbolic archetypes, providing a radically new method for viewing our actions and motivations. He sheds light on what forces determine how humans act, live and desire. His talk will focus on the revolutionary techniques he has used to create successful new product lines such as the PT Cruiser, develop successful marketing campaigns, including one for the U.S. presidency, and take dozens of Fortune 100 companies to the top of their game. Admission to this event is $35 per person. Advanced registration may be made by calling UCSD Extension at 858-882-8000, or online at extension.ucsd.edu/revelleforum (please refer to section ID number 056513 when registering). The series takes place in the auditorium of The Neurosciences Institute located at 10640 John Jay Hopkins Drive (parking is free). The talk will be followed by a booksigning. |
