| Description: | From 10:15- 10:45 AM, Dr. Jane Goodall will preside and speak at a tree planting ceremony in honor of UCSD’s sustainability initiatives. Dr. Goodall is a world renowned primatologist and environmentalist, and was named a "Messenger of Peace" by the U.N. in 2002. She is best known for her research, spanning more than 40 years, with chimpanzees in the East African forests.
This ceremony will be at the Cuzco Building of the UCSD International House in Eleanor Roosevelt College, and is free and open to the public. Plan to arrive promptly because many members of the UCSD community will be gathered for the ceremony. Subsequently, Dr. Goodall will attend a community service luncheon in the Great Hall with UCSD student service groups, but tickets are sold out. |
