Description: Successful Cognitive and Emotional Aging
The next 25 years will witness the largest-ever increase in the numbers of elderly, especially those living an active life. Yet, research on such successful aging has lagged behind that on age-related diseases. Successful aging involves both mental and physical health, and research at the University of California, San Diego’s Stein Institute for Research on Aging suggests that a critical component is related to the brain and mind. Dilip Jeste, M.D., Estelle and Edgar Levi Chair in Aging, professor of psychiatry and neuroscience and Chief of the Geriatric Psychiatry at UCSD and Veterans’ Affairs San Diego Health Care will review strategies for successful aging.

Speaker: Dilip Jeste, M.D.
