| Description: | Young scientists in nearly every field are finding today’s job market a confusing and frustrating place. More new PhDs, postdocs and master’s degree holders are considering a wider range of careers in and out of science, but feel ill-prepared and uniformed about their options.
In this workshop, Peter Fiske, PhD., CEO of PAX Mixer Inc and author of Put Your Science to Work: The Take Charge Career Guide for Scientists, will present a thorough and practical overview to the process of career planning and job hunting in today’s tought job market from the perspective of a young scientist. He will cover specific steps that a young scientist can take to broaden their horizons, strengthen their skills and present their best face. He will discuss developing a compelling CV and resume, writing a cover letter, interviewing, and more. |
