| Description: | Celebrate ocean conservation and learn more about Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). Scripps Oceanography researchers and naturalists will help visitors of all ages learn about their role in protecting the ocean and how to get involved in the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative, now focused on creating a network of MPAs in Southern California. Meet local high school students who will share MPA presentations with visitors. Make an ocean-inspired art project and take conservation tips home.
Family Days is a monthly program at Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, that embraces family learning and togetherness by blending arts and crafts, science and one-of-a-kind activities for all ages. Programs are included with aquarium admission and take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. join us for these dynamic opportunities to explore the ocean! |
