| Description: | “Kiss Me Kate” includes music and lyrics by Cole Porter and was originally written by Bella and Samuel Spewack. A show within a show, Fred Graham is the director and star of a new musical based on William Shakespeare's “Taming of the Shrew”. His leading lady is none other than Lilli Vanessi, a bona fide diva of both stage and screen and also, Fred's ex-wife. Bill Calhoun, a hoofer, and Lois Lane, a nightclub singer, comprise the supporting cast of The Taming of the Shrew while also sorting out their love life backstage. Things get complicated when two gangsters looking for Bill are put onto Fred's trail. Chaos, and hilarity, ensue, both on and offstage! |
