| Description: | Canela (Cinnamon) tells the story of a girl, her grandmother, and their love of cooking. Tere, the owner of a famous restaurant in Mexico City, loses her passion for cooking after a tragic death in the family. Beatrix, the restaurant's ambitious manager, is forced to hire a Cordon Bleu chef educated in France in order to salvage the business. In this charming film about food, family, and friendship, director Jordi Mariscal instills a sense of vitality and hope in the lives of characters on the verge of emotional collapse. [Jordi Mariscal, 2011, Mexico, 100 min] MENU: Roasted Corn Tamale with Crispy Plantain Chips and Ancho Buerre Blanc; Braised Chicken with Mole Negro, Smoky Rice, Cotija Cheese, and Flour Tortillas; Mexican Chocolate Cake with Canela Whipped Cream and Cocoa Nib Praline.
