| Description: | Embracing the theme "We Inspire," Founders' Day commemorates the day the campus was officially founded in 1960. UC President Mark Yudof will preside over the investiture of Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla before Town Square transforms into a festival with interactive affinity booths, music, games, giveaways and gourmet food truck fare (11:30 a.m., Town Square). Founders' Symposium follows in the evening with a TEDx-style lineup of dynamic presentations on the research happening now at UC San Diego and how that work translates into real impacts on real people (5-7 p.m., Rady School of Management). At night, Hullabaloo, hosted by AS Concerts and Events, will transform the heart of campus into a festival ground with a dance stage, carnival rides, live performances and food trucks (8 p.m.-midnight, Town Square and Matthews Quad). |
