| Description: | Dr. Bruce Warner, Principle Associate Director of LLNL, will give a talk on Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory: An Introduction and Opportunities for UCSD Students and Faculty. The Talk will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 5:00-6:30 at the Calit2 Atkinson Auditorium, UCSD. LLNL has supported U.S. national security for over 60 years with science and technology innovations. Dr. Bruce Warner will give an introduction to the laboratory, talk about its current mission and the current national security challenges that LLNL is engaging in. Dr. Warner will also discuss opportunities for UCSD students and faculty at LLNL. LLNL has a mission of strengthening the United States’ security through development and application of world-class science and technology to: enhance the nation’s defense; reduce the global threat from terrorism and weapons of mass destruction; and respond with vision, quality, integrity and technical excellence to scientific issues of national importance |
