Description: Over the course of four evenings, leading academic experts from UC San Diego will present TED-style talks on the future of energy. This first night, the Production and Utilization of Energy will be examined including the many types of energy sources being researched at UCSD to replace finite fossil fuels. These lectures will be filmed and serve as the introductory lectures of a Massive Open Online Course which is scheduled to launch in 2014 and will be available to anyone around the world. A catered reception will follow the lectures to provide a social opportunity to network and connect with faculty, students, and the San Diego community. How is Energy Produced and Used in the World?
