Description: Get ready to rock out with UCSD Alumni at the 18th Annual Lytle Benefit Concert. This year's musical benefit features Grammy nominated bass guitarist Nathan East, '78 performing in UC San Diego's award-winning Prebys Music Hall. Over the past 35 years Nathan East has played with top artists — from Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, to Madonna, Beyoncé and Daft Punk. At this special benefit concert, he will return to UC San Diego to perform with faculty and alumni and raise funds for UC San Diego's endowed Lytle Memorial Scholarship. The endowed Lytle Memorial Scholarship supports first-year students from The Preuss School UCSD who are attending Thurgood Marshall College at UC San Diego. Since 1994, the Lytle Benefit Concert series has benefitted deserving students by raising needed funds. The concerts feature renowned pianist Cecil Lytle and noteworthy guest artists performing varied programs spanning 200 years of jazz, popular standards and chamber music.
