Yasheng Huang, professor of international management at MIT, presents from his book project on four factors that have shaped China’s development: Education, Autocracy, Stability and Technology (EAST). He focuses on the historical patterns of technological development from the Spring and Autumn Era (770 BCE to 476 BCE) to the Qing dynasty (1645 CE to 1911 CE) and draw lessons for the technological development and for the applicability of the EAST formula today. This webinar will be moderated by UC San Diego professor Victor Shih.
