Support the Next Generation of Tritons

On Sunday, October 22, meet up with friends and family at UC San Diego's 27th Annual Triton 5K. The course is a scenic 3.1 mile route that takes runners past iconic landmarks, eucalyptus groves and shiny new campus neighborhoods. You’re free to run, walk or stroll at your own pace. Can’t make it in person? You can still participate, virtually, from anywhere around the globe using our Triton 5K app. 

Look Sharp on Race Day

Official Triton 5K T-shirts will be provided to the first 1,000 in-person participants to pick up their race packets. All campus runners will receive finisher medals and race bibs. Packet pick up details coming soon.

Post-Race Event

After your run, join us for a celebratory gathering on grassy RIMAC Field with refreshments, music and plenty of room to stretch out those leg muscles. Kick back, catch your breath and cool off with friends and family. It’s Triton time!

Junior Triton Run

Accompanying the 2023 Triton 5K, the annual Junior Triton Run is an opportunity for children (12 and younger) to get outdoors, moving and having fun! Whether kids choose to walk, run, scooter, bike, skate or swim, everyone’s a winner!

Register by October 9, and we’ll mail you an official Triton 5K finisher medal, race bib and retractable mini banner for fun race pics!

Since its founding in 1996 by former UC San Diego Chancellor Robert C. Dynes, the Triton 5K (formerly the Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk for Scholars) has raised more than $4 million in undergraduate scholarship support, benefiting more than 1,000 motivated and ambitious students. Now in its second decade, the Triton 5K continues to expand scholarships, ensuring that learning is accessible and affordable for all!
