4:00 p.m. Presentations Followed by Q & A
Robert Signer, Ph.D.: How Stem Cells Contribute to Aging and Age-related Diseases
Shiri Gur-Cohen, Ph.D.: Fantastic Stem Cells and Where to Find Them
6:00 p.m. Networking & Cocktails with Tastes from Bella Vista Caffé
Robert Signer's research explores the fundamental question of how cell-type-specific differences in the regulation of protein homeostasis uniquely support stem cell maintenance and longevity, enhance tissue regeneration, suppress cancer, and promote healthy aging. His mission is to discover the origins of blood disorders and cancer to treat these diseases at their root.
Shiri Gur-Cohen's research explores how stem cells sense and communicate with other cells in their environment to dictate their fate-decision and identity. Her goal is to advance therapeutics for enhancing tissue regeneration.
