The public is invited to hear addiction specialist Carla Marienfeld, MD, discuss America’s opioid epidemic, treatment settings and medications that can help break the destructive cycle of addiction leading to overdose. A psychiatrist whose research examines health outcomes of individuals with substance use disorders, she will explain why opioids are so powerfully addictive and discuss the latest—and sometimes controversial—evidence-based treatments for those struggling with addiction.
