“Beethoven in Beijing”: Film Screening with Jennifer Lin and Lei Liang

This event will screen “Beethoven In Beijing,” which explores the impact of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s historic 1973 China tour. After Western music was targeted during the Cultural Revolution, a visit by the Philadelphia Orchestra rekindled a love for Western classical music. Filmmaker Jennifer Lin will discuss the impact of music diplomacy on U.S.-China relations and the uncertain future of cultural exchanges.
