Mar 16, 2023–Mar 16, 2023 from 5:00pm–6:00pm
On Thursday, March 16 at 5 p.m., join us for the closing night ceremony of "Beyond the Metaverse with OurWorlds: Indigenous Stories are All Around You" at the Gallery QI in UC San Diego's Atkinson Hall.
"OurWorlds" is an educational extended-reality platform and mobile application designed to integrate Native American heritage and knowledge with everyday environments. As users navigate their landscapes, the app uses geolocation, 360º video capture and artificial intelligence to superimpose written and spoken Native language, artifacts and site-specific historical imagery over the modern world.
The closing night event will include presentations and a panel discussion featuring Gallery QI exhibit creators Kilma S. Lattin (right, above photo), OurWorlds founder and CEO; Catherine Eng (left, above), cofounder and CTO/COO; Stanley Rodriguez, Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel; and Ana Gloria "Martha" Rodriguez, Kumeyaay, San Jose de la Zorra, with tribal leaders.
All Gallery QI events are free and open to the public. Free food and drink will be provided.
