Coming out of its worst recession in history, Brazil will hold presidential elections in October 2018. There are currently six major candidates looking to garner the support of an electorate that is very polarized. Mayor of Vitória, Brazil and Pacific Leadership Fellow Luciano Rezendewill provide his assessment of the challenges to succeed in local administration in a period of crisis and discuss the challenges that the new president will face. The event will start with a talk at 5 p.m., followed by a reception at 6 p.m. Location: Location: Institute of the Americas, Malamud Conference Room (directions and map).
