Brett William Schultz (b. Chicago, 1978) is co-founder and creative director of Material Art Fair in Mexico City. His previous projects include BWSMX, an office for collaborative activities in contemporary art; Ruberta, a shared exhibition space in Los Angeles; and Yautepec, a gallery he co-directed from 2008 to 2017 in Mexico City. He received his BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California and his Master’s degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
He has organized over seventy exhibitions and seven editions of Material Art Fair. His projects have appeared across a wide variety of international publications, including The New York Times, El País, The Financial Times, The Paris Review, Artforum, Frieze, Art Review, ArtNews, artnet, The Art Newspaper, Art+Auction, L’Officiel, and Flash Art, among others.
He lives and works in Mexico City.
