The CalIT2 Workshop on Health and Research Innovations is a full-day event that brings together leading professionals, researchers and academics from UC San Diego, UC Irvine and UC Riverside to explore the latest advances in healthcare, mental health and research innovation.
Distinguished speakers include:
Alison Moore, MD, professor and chief of the Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Palliative Care at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, speaking on “UC San Diego on Community-Based Approaches to Healthy Aging.” Dr. Moore is also director of the UC San Deigo Sam and Rose Stein Institute for Research on Aging and the Center for Healthy Aging and holder of the Larry L. Hillblom Chair in Geriatric Medicine.
Sandra Brown, PhD, professor of psychology at UC San Diego, speaking on “Addiction: Promise for Prevention and Health Care Interventions.”
Ramesh Jain, PhD, professor emeritus and founding director of UCI Institute for Future Health at University of California, Irvine, speaking on “Personalized Health: The Next Frontier in Healthcare.”
Christian Dameff, MD, and Jeffrey Tully, MD, co-directors of the UC San Diego Center for Healthcare Cybersecurity, speaking on speaking on “Cybersecurity for Healthcare: Protecting Patient Data and Ensuring System Integrity.” Dr. Dameff is assistant clinical professor of emergency medical services and Dr. Tully is associate clinical professor of anesthesiology, both at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Lightning talk “Pecha Kucha” sessions – with presentations less than seven minutes – will stimulate new thinking in the areas of pandemic resilience, sepsis, brain imaging, and generative AI for healthcare.
