Are you interested in a volunteering opportunity at UC San Diego? Commencement ceremonies will be taking place on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16. Join us in celebrating thousands of graduates and welcoming their guests in this important achievement. Volunteers allow us to ensure the success of this event and guarantee fulfilling experiences.

For All Campus Commencement, there are a variety of roles that we will need to fill, which are listed below. If you are interested in volunteering for a specific College Commencement, we will only need Guest Experience roles filled.

Volunteer Roles:

• Triton Track: Work with your fellow volunteers to support the graduate procession from Triton Track to RIMAC field.

• Graduate Line Management: Support line management of graduates as they make their way to RIMAC field.

• Gonfalon Holders: Be part of the procession while holding flags that represent the university’s schools and divisions. Must be able to lift and walk with a 10 pound, 8 foot tall pole and flag.

• Seating: Seat graduates as they make their way onto RIMAC field.

• Recession: Following the ceremony, help dismiss graduates in an orderly fashion.

• Alumni Sun God Pin Distribution: Assist Alumni Relations in passing out Sun God pins to graduates. UC San Diego alumni preferred.

• Guest Experience: Direct guests from check-in on Ridge Walk to RIMAC field, answer basic event FAQs or staff an information booth.

• General Support: Be prepared to lend a hand wherever a need arises.

• ADA Support: Provide assistance to guests on the field or track in need of ADA assistance.
