Can We Decouple and Decarbonize?

Can We Decouple and Decarbonize?

In this talk, Jonas Nahm examines the drivers and consequences of the global division of labor in clean energy industries in light of recent attempts to decouple and reshore manufacturing from China. As China has become a central node in clean energy supply chains, geopolitical tensions in the U.S.-China relationship are now also putting at risk the ability to achieve global climate goals.

Speaker:

  • Jonas Nahm, Assistant Professor of Energy, Resources, and Environment, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS)

Moderator:

  • Michael Davidson, Assistant Professor, UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy
