Precision cancer risk through inflammatory subtyping and modeling (PRISM) study 

Dr. Kit Curtius is an Assistant Professor leading an interdisciplinary cancer research lab at University of California San Diego within the Division of Biomedical Informatics and Moores Cancer Center. Dr. Curtius’ team integrates computational methods and mathematical models with high-dimensional genomic and clinical data to uncover the evolutionary dynamics of carcinogenesis, leading to novel predictive models and translational insights that can inform personalized prevention strategies. Dr. Curtius is the PI of a National Cancer Institute R01 and VA Merit Review Award, and she previously held a UKRI Rutherford Fellowship as a postdoc at Barts Cancer Institute in London UK. Her cancer research career began in 2010 at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle WA studying pre-cancer evolution and screening strategies in GI cancers. Dr. Curtius received her PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Washington in 2015 and BS in Mathematics from University of California Los Angeles in 2010.
