Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and Franz Liszt’s Les Preludes
New choral conductor Patrick Walders makes his conducting debut with La Jolla Symphony and Chorus. The concert opens with Franz Liszt’s Les Preludes and is followed by Carl Orff’s best known work, Carmina Burana. The La Jolla Symphony Chorus is joined in this performance by guest soprano Tasha Koontz, guest tenor John Russell and guest baritone Kyle Ferrill. The San Diego Gay Men’s Chamber Chorus and the North Coast Singers “Caprice” youth chorus helps complete the ensemble. A pre-concert lecture is given by the conductor one hour prior to each performance.
