Dec 15, 2016–Dec 17, 2016 (All Day)
The Changing Microbiomes for Health Symposium, sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, brings together leaders in microbiome science to establish the way our microbes influence our health and how we can change them for better health. We’ve invited global leaders in the microbiome, including experts on obesity and neurological disease. We also have innovators who are on the cutting edge of methods to modify the microbiome. Dr Emma Allen-Vercoe is developing the next generation of fecal transplant for Clostridium Difficile infections and Dr. Maria Gloria Dominguez Bello, who published the first study demonstrating microbial transplants in infants earlier this year. The conference will also provide an opportunity for leaders in microbiome research and partners in a wide range of other fields to discuss our current understanding, gaps in our knowledge, and how we can work together to integrate microbiome science into practices for better health. The conference will be held December 15–17, 2016 at Atkinson Hall at the University of California, San Diego.
