Dr. Lakoff is professor emeritus of political science at UC San Diego and the founding chair of his department. He earned a B.A. from Brandeis and a Ph.D. from Harvard, where he served on the faculty of the Department of Government. He is the author of numerous books and journal articles, mainly on the history of political thought and relations of science and government. In recent years he has taught an undergraduate course on the government and politics of the Middle East. Among his latest publications is an article in the Wilson Quarterly proposing a novel approach to resolving the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
