CHARM—Collaborative to Halt Antibiotic-Resistant Microbes—is a brand new interdisciplinary research and educational initiative whose mission is to leverage and deploy the unique environment, resources and scientific talent of our University and its partners to lead innovative, research driven, and paradigm shifting solutions to the global antibiotic-resistance crisis. Every third Tuesday CHARM hosts its Colloquium series: two 25 min talks from a UC San Diego CHARM Investigator and a local Biotechnology Industry Innovator in the first hour, an invited outside seminar speaker at the forefront of antibiotic resistance innovation for a full 50 min seminar in the second hour, then finally an hour of networking for all attendees with food and drinks.
