Apr 24, 2025–Apr 24, 2025 from 3:30pm–5:00pm
The China Town Hall is a two-part program. The first part, via a live national videocast, will feature leading experts (Ryan Hass, director of the John L. Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution; Matthew Turpin, visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution; and Lingling Wei, chief China correspondent at The Wall Street Journal) as they assess the Trump administration’s China policy.
The national videocast will be followed by an on-site event, hosted at the Bishop’s School, featuring professor Victor Shih, director of the 21st Century China Center. He will discuss the tradeoffs of recent U.S. policies aimed at protecting its economy from China’s competitive and security pressures, highlighting how these measures, while well-intentioned, may impact economic growth and innovation in the U.S.
