Unlock Your Future, Beyond the Classroom
This expanded workshop introduces students to the full spectrum of Experiential Learning (EL) opportunities available at UC San Diego. Attendees will explore signature Teaching and Learning Commons EL programs, including:
-
Academic Internship Program (AIP) – structured, credit‑bearing internships that integrate academic learning with professional experience.
-
UC Washington Center (UCDC) and UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) – immersive study‑abroad and research programs in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento.
-
Co‑Curricular Record (CCR) – a verified portfolio of co‑curricular activities and the transferable skills you develop outside the classroom.
-
REAL Portal – a centralized hub for discovering, applying to, and documenting experiential‑learning opportunities across the campus.
The session provides interactive resources to connect students with additional EL programs across campus, such as study abroad, student employment positions, service‑learning projects, research fellowships and more. Following the workshop students will know how to locate and participate in a range of beyond-the-classroom opportunities, and leverage your experiential achievements to strengthen your career portfolio.
