Oct 16, 2019–Oct 16, 2019 from 5:00pm–6:00pm
Pacific Leadership Fellows Bennett Freeman, a leading corporate responsibility advocate and former U.S. human rights diplomat and Rebecca MacKinnon, an influential authority on the internet and human rights, will offer insights from working with companies, activists, investors and policymakers to set standards for corporate responsibility and accountability. They will make the case for how companies must recognize how they too depend—and must defend—the shared space of accountable governance and civic freedoms that is now under pressure. They will propose ideas for how all of us—as citizens, voters and consumers and as investors, employers and employees—can challenge corporations to support democracy and human rights at this time of defining crisis. The event will start with a talk at 5 p.m., followed by a reception at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the program. Co-sponsored by iHouse Global Forum.
