Course Design Studio

Join us for an enjoyable, comprehensive 3-day Course Design Studio (CDS) on creating, modifying, or updating one of your courses. Upon completion of the three-day workshop, participants will be able to:

  • design a course integrating Backward Design and align measurable Outcomes(LO) to programme and institutional requirements.
  • develop well aligned authentic, measurable course assessments that are supported by evidence based practice.
  • critique empirical research of effective teaching practices to discriminate between extant active learning techniques in order to enhance student engagement;
  • discuss Boyer’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) model and outline a research question in order to reflect upon improving effective teaching;
  • test electronic learning objects to judge their level of integration to support student learning.
