COVID-19 Global Impacts: U.S.-China Relations

COVID-19 Global Impacts: U.S.-China Relations

Building on an already tense relationship aggravated by the trade war, will the recent War of Words between the U.S. and China lead to further escalation of bilateral tension? Or can a call for humanity and cooperation join the nations in a fight against a common enemy? Join experts from the 21st Century China Center as they explore the issue from all angles.

We are living through a time of fear and uncertainty. While we struggle to understand the ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy faculty and guest experts have come together to provide weekly seminars to try and help us understand where we might be headed as a global community. Each week we'll address a different sector impacted by the novel coronavirus.

Join us for the first webinar on April 9 at 12 p.m. (PDT) on COVID-19 Global Impacts: U.S.-China Relations. Confirmed speakers:

  • Susan Shirk, Research Professor and Chair of the 21st Century China Center, GPS UC San Diego
  • Victor Shih, Ho Miu Lam Chair in China and Pacific Relations, GPS UC San Diego
  • Deborah Seligsohn, Assistant Professor, Villanova University

The information to connect to the webinar will be given during the registration confirmation process.
