This class is for managers, supervisors and work leaders who would like to improve staff morale in their respective units and explore ideas for creating a working environment for staff that encourages mutual respect and self-motivation. Participants will learn skills to identify what makes work worthwhile for individual employees, how to effectively address employee needs and how to develop a philosophy, objectives, and strategies for creating and maintaining a rewarding workplace. This course will define and discuss both large and small issues that affect staff morale in areas including:

• Compensation
• Relationships between staff and faculty
• Professional development
• Physical environment
• Work-life balance

• Login to the UC Learning Center by going to https://uclearning.ucsd.edu, or through the Personal Tools menu on Blink, using your Single Sign-On.
• Click the FIND A  COURSE button, and type the workshop title or keyword in the search box, then click the Enter button.
• Using the Select button to the right of the activity name, click REGISTER in order to see the available date(s).
• Select the offering of the activity you wish to attend by selecting the small circle next to the blue box.
• Click SUBMIT to finalize your registration
