Over the past decade, Curebound's signature community event, Padres Pedal the Cause, has raised $24.5 million for innovative cancer research and united thousands of people with one goal: to end cancer. Building on this strong foundation, we are excited to announce that starting this year, Padres Pedal the Cause will expand and become the Curebound Cancer Challenge, beginning at RIMAC on the UC San Diego campus, with all new coastal routes and more ways to get involved in San Diego's fight against cancer.

Situated in La Jolla among world-renowned research organizations and Curebound research partner institutions, including UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, the UC San Diego site for Curebound Cancer Challenge will put a spotlight on the San Diego scientific community that has made tremendous strides in the race to find cures for cancer.

Curebound Cancer Challenge will feature three world-class rides along San Diego’s Torrey Pines coastline, a family friendly 5K, a new 10K run, 50-minute spin classes, entertainment, family activities, and a team village where participants can gather, honor loved ones battling cancer, and celebrate their fundraising to put an end to cancer.

This year, for the first time ever, a UC San Diego alumni team will come together to make a difference for the Curebound Cancer Challenge. Alumni can ride, walk, run or spin, and 100% of the funds raised by participants will directly support vital cancer research at one of Curebound’s six beneficiary institutions — including UC San Diego. A generous donor and fellow UC San Diego alumnus has pledged to cover the first 45 UC San Diego alumni registrations on a first come, first served basis. Register for the event with code ALUM to join Team Tritons for a Cure and make a difference together.
