Jan 27, 2021–Jan 27, 2021 from 10:00am–11:00am
Observed annually on January 28, Data Privacy Day is a global effort that generates awareness about the importance of privacy, highlights easy ways to protect personal information, and reminds organizations that privacy is good for business. Data Privacy Day is the signature event in the National Cyber Security Alliance's (NCSA) year-round privacy awareness and education efforts and extends into February as Data Privacy Month.
Our Campus Privacy Office and the IT Services Office of Information Assurance are registered as Data Privacy Day Champions to demonstrate our commitment to protect the personal data of applicants, students, staff, faculty, research participants, alumni, and the general public. By treating these individuals and their information with respect, we demonstrate trust, uphold our ethical responsibility as good data stewards, and follow our Privacy Guiding Principles. Various events are planned to celebrate Data Privacy Day and Month hosted by campus and external sources. Please visit our Data Privacy Day / Month page for registration information on additional sessions.
In this session, join Cybersecurity Awareness Program Coordinator, Ronise Zenon to discuss data concerns specific to UC San Diego affiliates — including tips and resources to help you protect your personal data — and ways to ensure that data of individuals served by the university is protected.
