The art AND science of taking an idea from the conception to volume manufacturing are not written in manuals or books. However, there are several key factors you should know that will help you, the entrepreneur, achieve that goal. The talk will cover these factors.
Dr. Ishak is an adjunct professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford
University.
Dr. Ishak has authored more than 100 journal and conference papers, and four chapters in the
“Handbook of Electronic Instruments.” He was named an inventor on seven U.S. patents. He is on
the Technical Advisory Boards of USC, UCSD, SCU, UCSB, and McMaster University. He was a
member of the National Academics Committee on “Harnessing the Light” to write the book “Optics &
Photonics – Essential Technologies for Our Nation,” 2013, resulting in the White House
announcement of the Integrated Photonics Manufacturing Institute in October 2014. In 2016, Dr.
Ishak was elected a member of the Visiting Committee on Advanced Technologies (VCAT) of the
National Institute of Standards and Technology.
