Lupita Parra, Development Director at MLK50: Justice Through Journalism. LAS MA Alumnus
MLK50 is a nonprofit newsroom based in Memphis, Tennessee. Our mission is to report on the intersection of poverty, power and policy and to bear witness to movement making and lived experiences. Our core programming is a mix of community accountability and investigative reporting, as well as community engagement.

Church World Service is a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. CWS was born in 1946 in the aftermath of World War II. Now, more than 75 years later, CWS works across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean and North America to help build a world where everyone has food, a voice and a safe place to call home.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is a UN agency mandated to aid and protect refugees, forcibly displaced persons, and stateless people, and assist in their voluntary repatriation, local integration, or resettlement to a third country. UNHCR was created in 1950 to address the refugee crisis in the aftermath of World War II, and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with staff working in 138 countries.
