Apr 19, 2016–Apr 19, 2016 from 4:00pm–6:30pm
Green Talks is a conference that is based on the structure of a TED Talk, with the exception that it is specifically geared towards environmental awareness. The purpose of our event is to engage and promote the UC San Diego student body and community about sustainability and the importance of being environmentally conscious through one’s actions. There will be 6 speakers who include UC San Diego students, faculty, and sustainability industry professionals. This event has been created, planned and led by the undergraduate students of the Inter-Sustainability Council, which is an organization that houses all the sustainability focused organizations on campus. This event directly relates to the ISC’s mission statement because it promotes and facilitates sustainability and environmental awareness through engaging presentations with individuals from a variety of fields who all work and believe in the same ideal: that the earth is our home and we should treat it with respect. Free event. Refreshments will be served. Related Web site: http://iscucsd.wix.com/greentalks
