May 13, 2017–May 14, 2017 from 10:30pm–12:30am
Get ready for a true Southern California experience! Observe hundreds of small silver fish called grunion ride the waves onto La Jolla beaches to spawn. Our naturalists will highlight the fascinating lives of these mysterious fish, help you hatch grunion eggs before your eyes, and then lead you to the beach to search for grunion in the wild. Prepare for cool, wet conditions and bring a flashlight. Minors must attend with a paid adult, for ages 6+. Please note, Grunion Runs do not meet at Birch Aquarium. Tickets are $17 for Public Admission and $15 for Birch Aquarium Members. Annual Memberships are also available. Pre-purchase is required. Please visit aquarium.ucsd.edu or call 858-534-7336 to purchase tickets. Proceeds support exhibits and educational programming at Birch Aquarium at Scripps. For a full schedule of Grunion Runs, visit aquarium.ucsd.edu.
