DESCRIPTION:While scholars have examined K-pop through music\, film\, and o
 ther audiovisual media\, fashion remains significantly under-researched. M
 oreover\, existing studies tend to overlook the historical antecedents tha
 t shaped the globalization of Korean popular culture over the last two dec
 ades. To address these gaps\, this international workshop on histories and
  cultures of South Korean fashion brings together leading scholars from hi
 story\, art history\, fashion studies\, and popular culture. Presentations
  will explore such diverse themes as fashion diplomacy\, the politics of c
 lothing\, and fashion shows\, as well as elite and mainstream consumption.
  A concluding roundtable will facilitate a dialogue about the challenges a
