This interdisciplinary symposium – organized by UC San Diego Nature Space & Politics Research Group, Human Rights & Migration Program, and the Communication Department’s Democracy Lab – will explore themes related to human displacement and efforts for remediation and reparation. Filmmakers, scholars, activists, policy analysts, and journalists engaged in the cascading concerns of human and ecological insecurity in the face of climate change will be involved in dialogue with one another at this symposium. The intersecting themes of this event are critical to present and future challenges and opportunities that are increasingly pressing locally, regionally and globally.
