Incendiary—Reading
Tanya’s son is on death row. She’s going to set him free. It won’t be easy. She’ll need to buy guns. She’ll need to get her hair done. She’ll need to make arrangements with her adult daughter. She’ll need a plan, but how do you plan for a suicide mission? A collision between the absurd and the tragic, Incendiary explores generational violence, heroism, and the gendered expectations of emotional labor in Black families.
