Inequality and Social Policy – How Can We Do Better?

Inequality and Social Policy – How Can We Do Better?

Join us for the next webinar on Jan. 27 at 12 p.m. (PST) taken from the new curricular track in the Master of Public Policy degree program. GPS Professors Alexander Gelber and John Ahlquist lead a conversation on the dynamic relationship between social policy and inequality in the U.S. and abroad. Examining policy related to social safety nets, labor contracting, and taxation, we’ll explore how changes in one domain ripple across others and have profound effects on equality.

Confirmed speakers include:

John Ahlquist, GPS Associate Professor

Alexander Gelber, GPS Associate Professor

Victoria Paykar, GPS Alumna and Associate Program Officer at the San Francisco Foundation

Designing Policy for a Global Impact is a quarterly webinar series exploring the School’s research findings and their impact on policy choices across the globe. In collaboration with UC San Diego Alumni and Graduate Division, each webinar will take a closer look at a topic currently under discussion in the public domain. The webinar format allows us to reach across the continents and engage an audience far beyond the shores of San Diego – perfect for alumni interested in staying up to date on the latest research coming out of GPS.
