The UC San Diego Innovation Expo: Health and Wellness event is a celebration of all entrepreneurship-related accomplishments at UC San Diego. UC San Diego innovation is dedicated to technologies that enrich human life and society, improving health and alleviating ailments. In an effort to maximize mental and physical health, we are looking for sustainable interventions to maintain and enhance personal wellness. This event will allow individuals to showcase these innovations, learn more about entrepreneurial resources available to them, and network with other students and faculty for future collaboration. Innovation Expo: Health and Wellness will feature a pitch competition and prototype/demo fair and will be hosted virtually on Thursday, May 27th.

We are accepting applications for the Prototype & Demo Fair.

APPLY IF:

…you have developed a prototype (hardware/software/service concept) that solves a problem related to personal health and wellness, and want to show it to others.  This could be something created as part of a class project, work in a research lab, while participating in one of the on-campus incubator/accelerator programs, or on your own.  We are agnostic of technology type.  Eligible areas include but are not limited to: drug development, medical devices, diagnostics/theranostics, mental health, self-care, elder care, nutrition, and fitness. 

The prototype demo fair is open to all UC San Diego students (undergraduate, graduate, Extension), or teams led by UC San Diego students.  Team members can include non-students, but the team leader must be a currently-enrolled student.  Forming a team or company is not required to participate in the demo fair.

PRIZES INCLUDE:

• Complimentary enrollment in the Fall Quarter Essentials of Entrepreneurship & Innovation course
• Device Acceleration Center (DAC) consultation
• A free two-hour session with a mentor from the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur or one of the campus Entrepreneurs-in-Residence 
• Virtual Lunch with university leader
