Jan 14, 2018–Jan 14, 2018 (All Day)
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Day of Service Committee invites you to join UC San Diego in a campus tradition of serving our local community and marching in the 38th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade in celebration of the principles and ideals of Dr. King. The service portion of the day will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Baker Elementary School in Mountain View, just north of National City. Service projects include painting and gardening projects, organizing a free bookstore and setting up donated computers. The parade portion of the day will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Embarcadero along Harbor Drive. UC San Diego will debut a float at this year’s 38th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. Departments and organizations are encouraged to showcase their own banners, letters and signage while we march in the parade. This is a great activity for organizations, departments, and families.
