This month for Meet the VC Silicon Valley Bank Managing Director Erik Otterson welcomes Daniel Rich of MasterCard Ventures. Daniel serves as Vice President of Strategy and New Product Development in the Cyber and Intelligence Solutions division at Mastercard, where he works on global strategy and product innovation focused on cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and financial-crime technologies in the payments ecosystem. Over a career spanning more than two decades in enterprise software, analytics, and financial services technology, he has held leadership roles in product management, strategy, and decision analytics at companies including Mastercard, Oracle, and FICO (Fair Isaac), with a consistent focus on risk management and data-driven platforms. In addition to his work within Mastercard’s cybersecurity and intelligence business, Rich has been involved in engaging with emerging fintech companies and innovation ecosystems connected to Mastercard initiatives. He holds a BA from UCLA and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
